Dear Critical Mass Members:
You are all invited to join the Revolutionary Energy Ride next
Saturday, Nov. 3, from Boston to Concord. This is part of the national Step It Up
campaign, spearheaded by Middlebury's environmentalist Bill McKibben, to demand
real leadership on the issue of global warming.
Riders will gather at the Alewife T Sation at the head of the
Minuteman Bike Path just before 1 PM for the 18 ride mile to Concord. The Concord
Rally will take place at the Minuteman National Park from 2 until 3:30 pm. Prior
to the ride, a Boston rally will take place at St. Paul's Cathdral, 138
Tremont St, from 10:30 until 12:00. You can bike back from Concord or take the
commuter rail.
This will be a "Paul Revere-like" ride to raise awareness about the
critical need for immediate actions to switch our country to sustainable energy
sources. Make a difference and join the energy revolution!
More information can be obtained at
http://events.stepitup2007.org/november/events/show/2193
Note also that local bike rides will take place from a number of
surrounding towns, including Weston, Bedford, and Carlisle -- see
www.stepitup2007.org, click "join an action" click "MA" for more information.
There is strength in numbers; we need to created a movement equivalent
to the civil rights', abolitionists', or womens' rights movements!
Thank you, Susan Shamel, Bedford, a "critical mass mother"
